Where I live, the joke is that this time of year it's spring in the morning, summer mid-day, fall in the evening and winter overnight. I've been wearing these for a couple of months now, but only commenting after an 1100 mile, 22 hour ride up to the mountains and back. I left home at 3 am in a (7-year) tee shirt, these riding sleeves and a leather jacket. It was cold outside; these were nice insulation under the jacket and comfortable. At first light (and gas), I lost the jacket but kept the sleeves. Cool, but enough added warmth. As it got hotter, these seemed to actually cool in the breeze; hot outside but I didn't need to take them off. Then as it got cooler, until sunset before I put the coat back on for the last few hours into dark. The right gear can make a better ride. Esp. on a day like that. Yes, they're a but snug to get on and off, but then it's easy to forget they're even on.
Bonus: I'm also doing some heavy property clearing with my tractor, clawing into dense thicket among other things. I tried these for that, too, and they're much better than shirt sleeves: the sticker bushes don't catch the material and aren't tearing up my arms either. Plus they're a much cooler, less sweaty alternative.
