This is my second pair of Indie Ridge, the first being a pair of Crows, ordered over one year ago. The Crows have held up wonderfully, which is why I was willing to order another pair of Indie Ridge. Essentially, The Crossfields are The Crows "Brotha From Anotha Motha" because the only appreciable difference is the perforation in the former's leather, giving The Crossfields purported greater breathability. I live in the Southeastern US, where our "feels like" temps can easily exceed 100F from May through September, and I wanted another short boot to rotate with The Crows. Sizing is on-point, build quality superb, i.e.., stitching, eyelets, sturdy laces, zero blemishes, padding, ankle protection (interior and exterior), glue that binds the soles to the leather, etc. My ONLY - and I mean ONLY - knock against the boots (and I speak from wearing experience) is that the soles are not the least bit grippy on loose gravel nor grease spots, e.g, at the gas station, middle lane position at stop lights, etc. Something to be aware of, so use caution in those scenarios, and if you can live with that caveat, buy these boots; they're friggin' awesome! I'm a motorcycle boot snob, with 15 pairs, including 4 daytona. There is no question daytona makes the Gold Standard in motorcycle boots, but sometimes I tire of Velcro and excessive shaft height, and I have short boots from TCX, Falco, and others, and Indie Ridge blows them away.
